1940’s AU - KristAnna Kristoff is part of a barber shop quartet and Anna is the daughter of a wealthy business man who owns most of the buildings in town.
Anna’s fiancee, Hans, is away on business for a while and during that time she decides to bring her sister out shopping to keep herself distracted. An unexpected stranger catches her eye as they walk down the street, a rather handsome a capella singer amongst the others in the quartet. He catches her staring and begins to sing to her. It would go on like this for days after, until one day she walked up to him, playfully plucked the hat from his head and ran over behind the wall of the next building. Teasing him, she refused to give it back.
"M’aam, if you don’t hand that over I’m afraid I’m gonna have to ask you out on a date. Now, I don’t think you’d want that." She smiles and places the hat on her head, "where we goin’?"
Though they both understand that she’s already engaged, they fall in love. A month later Hans returns, just as the military begins to hastily recruit every able bodied young man to help in the war. He catches word of Anna’s little afair, and makes sure a service letter finds its way to Kristoff’s doorstep, telling him he is being recruited to fight.
.….. it’s literally what happens in FROZEN… Anna is engaged, falls in love with another guy, fiancee turns out to be a real douche, lives happily with the man she fell in love with.
Think of this quote: “If you’re in love with two people at once, pick the second one. Because if you really loved the first, you never would’ve fallen for the other.”
and she didn’t really “cheat” on Hans in the first place because though she appreciated Kristoff’s company and what not, she didn’t know that what she was feeling was love. that’s why Olaf had to help her out after Hans had ditched her
Things that need to be understood here is that it’s a different time. Their circumstances are different, they didn’t grow up the same way they did in the movie. Events happened differently and some didnt happen at all. Hence why some things may seem ooc to you, but it’s ic for this particular story. People were forward then, they weren’t afraid to show their affection. There were a lot of flirts and a lot of genuine charmers.
Hans neglects her quite a bit, and all she really does is go out for a meal with Kris. In this story she’s a bit of a flirt, and she does it subconsciously. Things get more complicated later, but she’s obviously hesitant about it all, just like he is. You can’t help who you fall in love with guys, it just happens. And sometimes you just have to act on those feelings, otherwise you’ll always regret it. Anna is loyal, yes. But how long can you fight feelings like that before it starts tearing you apart. That’s the struggle in this story. Something’s gotta give. Things are gonna get complicated before they work out.
